Summit aims to eliminate Black mental health stigma

A free two-day summit aims to help shatter the stigma associated with mental and behavioral wellness.

State Sen. Vincent Hughes, Temple University Center for Bioethics, Urban Health and Policy and the Black Women’s Health Alliance will hold “Breaking the Silence on Mental Wellness: Real Talk, Real Help, Real Solutions” April 4-5 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Temple’s School of Medicine, 3500 N. Broad St. (Broad and Tioga streets).

Summit attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a host of workshops, receive resources from dozens of service providers and hear insightful presentations. This year’s summit will feature many behavioral health providers and practitioners from the community.
